Please join us for our Winter/Spring session of our junior program.  This session runs a full 17 weeks beginning January 9th!
We have the most popular adult programs in the State!  XR10S is a series of fast paced drills and fun games AND we have classes everyday of the week.  Check out our schedule and be sure to call first to reserve your spot!  Classes are done according to NTRP ratings.

Bruce Nagel

Bruce Nagel, Director of Tennis / Head Pro.  Bruce was born in Los Angeles, and raised in Utah and Iowa.   He attended the University of Iowa on a full tennis scholarship, where he received his degree in Business Administration with areas of concentration in Statistical Analysis and Marketing.
Nationally ranked as a junior and an adult, he has lived in Hawaii since 1980 and considers Hawaii home.  He ran the tennis programs at Hickam Air Force Base for seven years before joining the Kailua Racquet Club in 1989, where he runs the Bruce Nagel Tennis Academy and also serves as the club's General Manager.  His hobbies include skiing, surfing, and kayak fishing.  
Bruce has been a proud member of the USPTA since 1985 and is certified as a Level 1 Pro.  He was President of the Hawaii Division of the USPTA from 2000-2004, was "Pro of the Year" in 2005, and is again currently serving on the Board.



Judy Weitz

Judy Weitz was born in California and lived in Oregon for a short time before permanently relocating to Hawaii in 1984. Her first ever tennis lesson was from Kailua Racquet Club's very own General Manager and Head Pro Bruce Nagel!  She competed in Hawaii Opens from 90-97 maintaining a top ranking in both singles and doubles. She enjoys playing soccer, mountain biking, swimming, running and would prefer being in the great outdoors. Her favorite tennis workout is Exer-Tennis class.   "Exer-tennis is by far the best tennis workout I have ever had."  It is a fun, unique and effective format for all ages and abilities.  Judy has been at Kailua Racquet Club since 1998. She teaches the Games Only classes on Monday and Friday at 9:30. She is also available for private lessons weekday mornings and Saturday afternoon.


Jared Carstenn

Jared Carstenn was born in Ocala, Florida in 1984 and picked up a racquet for the first time before turning two. While growing up, he competed on several Florida Section Junior Team Tennis Championship teams. He also played all four years of high school tennis at the Varsity level.  Jared started work in the tennis industry at the age of 14 teaching and assisting in club operations at Ft. King Tennis Center in Ocala. He has attended Central Florida Community College, Hawaii Pacific University as well as University Of Hawaii.
Hawaii has been home to Jared since 2003 and there is no other place that he would rather be!  Jared teaches Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Sunday morning Exer-Tennis classes and is available for private lessons on Tuesday and Wednesday mornings and Sunday early afternoon.  His other sports interests include body boarding, basketball, football, golf, volleyball, surfing, and ping pong.  
He is best known for extreme amounts of AWESOME!!!  HERE is a youtube video that explains it all!


Derek Morrison

Derek Morrison comes to us from Washington State where he played junior tournaments, high school and college tennis.  He then taught tennis at Vancouver Tennis Center.  As a sophomore in high school he won the Washington 2A state singles title and was runner up the following year.  His highest junior ranking was #17 in PNW (1999).  He also played two years at Linfield College where he played 1 & 2 singles/doubles and helped lead them to a National ranking of 19 in 2002.  His best singles win was against Dermont O'Grady who had a NAIA singles national ranking #16 (2002).  Recently Derek has been ranked #2 in 5.0 singles and #1 in 5.0 doubles (2006) in the Pacific Northwest.  Derek is an avid tennis player and enjoys teaching all levels.  He enjoys keeping up-to-date with the newest techniques of tennis stroke production.  He is known for his patience and enthusiastic teaching style.  Derek has been at Kailua Racquet Club since 2008. He teaches the Exer-Tennis classes on Saturday.  He is available for private lessons on weekday mornings as well Saturday afternoons.
